How many of you feel that most patients coming for cosmetic surgery need psychological counselling ?
No all but some certainly. In my practice, patients who undergoing rhinoplasty, face lift and gynectomastia correction are more likely to need psychological counselling
Do you send them if you feel so prior to surgery ?
We certainly send them to psychiatric evaluation if they need.
How many of you think that if they are really sent, you will lose them as your patients ?
We better loose them rather then have them running behind us all our life.
How many of you feel most of these patients are unnecessarily demanding and irritating ?
All the patients with psychological element are not sure of their demands and keep changing their demand. Even if we decide to operate them after psychological evaluation, we always discuss the plan with patients in presence of relative.
Do you tolerate them only for money ?

What percentage of these patients really need anything ?
About 50% of patients will undergo surgery after psychological counseling and discussion with family members.
